56-Year-Old Grandma Becomes Surrogate for Son’s Baby

A 56-year-old grandma recently went viral after she carried her son’s baby as a surrogate – it was risky, especially at her age, making this move something truly extraordinary.

Can you imagine also doing this for your kids?

56-Year-Old Grandma Becomes Surrogate for Son’s Baby

Most women have their kids in their 20s and 30s. Some still have children in their 40s, but it’s rare for them to have kids in their 50s.

Many women in their 50s might already be starting their menopause, already grandmas, or simply uncomfortable with becoming pregnant because of their advanced age. Also, at this age, a pregnancy can be risky – and riskier for someone who hasn’t had a child yet.

But for one grandma, being in her 50s isn’t a hindrance to becoming pregnant if that meant carrying her own grandchild.

Nancy Hauck was already 56 when she became a mom again, but this time a surrogate mom for the child of her son and daughter-in-law.

Cambria Hauck, Nancy’s daughter-in-law, proudly announced the birth of their daughter, Hannah, in an unconventional photo.

She is here, and my heart could explode. She is perfect in every way,” she wrote as caption to a photo of Nancy in the hospital bed and supported by her husband on one side. At her other side is the young couple – the child’s biological parents.

Cambria explained that she and her husband Jeff, Nancy’s son, had previously frozen some embryos from fertility treatments.

They actually have two sets of twins already, but wanted one or two more kids before calling it quits.

However, the birth of their second set of twins had complications, so Cambria had to undergo an emergency hysterectomy.

Jeff had initially proposed for the remaining embryos to be implanted in Cambria’s womb, but that would have been riskier.

The younger couple were surprised when Jeff’s mom stepped in and offered to become their surrogate.

Although they were all concerned that she might be “too old,” the tests came out fine and they received the go-signal from their doctor.

What a wonderful grandma!

Who’s the Oldest Woman to Give Birth?

A 74-year-old woman named Mangayamma Yaramati from southern India is believed to be the oldest woman to give birth.

She got pregnant through IVF after learning that neighbor in her 50s also got pregnant in this manner. Despite her age, Mangayamma explained that she wanted to have a baby because she had always felt guilty about not having one.

She gave birth to twins in September 2019.
