They say that parents will do anything and everything for their children — and this appears to be the case in the appreciation post shared by a netizen going by the handle “Fannie Titan.”

This young student lives in Bataan with their family but goes to school in Pampanga. The student didn’t elaborate about their living arrangement but explained that they need to spend Php300 on fare so they can go to school, then go back home.

Already a college student in their fourth year, taking up a Business Economics course, 22-year-old Fannie Tican acknowledged their mom’s sacrifices so they could go to school.

“Salamat, mama. Balang araw, mabibigay ko rin sa ‘yo ang buhay na gusto mo,” the student wrote on their Facebook account. (Thanks, mom. One day, I can give you the life you wanted.)

The student explained that they only needed to attend one class in school the following day. So, they were hesitant to spend the coins their mom had saved from selling fishball and kikiam, knowing that they needed at least Php400 as allowance.

They went on to explain that Php300 of that allowance money goes to their fare because of the distance between Bataan and Pampanga.

And while they’re thankful that education is technically free, they also pointed out that it still costs a lot of money to go to school.

With that train of thought, the young student thanked their mom for setting aside these coins so they could go to school — and in return, they vowed to find a way to pay it back in the future by providing their mom with what she needed.

They also added that instead of their mom saving the money in her own piggy bank to use herself, she’s sacrificing her earnings so her child can have fare and allowance for their studies.

And though the student was hesitant at first about going to school, they finally decided not to let their parent’s efforts go to waste. They decided to go to school the following day, even if they only needed to attend one class.

They proudly announced that they’ve never been absent from school because their mom always made sure all her children were provided for from the money she earned from selling street food.
