Passengers Are Paying $48 To Sleep On This Bus

How would you love to rest and travel at the same time? The SleepBus allows you to do exactly that.

According to TechInsider, this unique bus service is being offered for passengers traveling between San Francisco and Los Angeles for only $48. The concept is pretty straightforward – you ride the bus, sleep on the bunk, and then you wake up at your destination.

What sets the SleepBus apart from other traditional buses is that it has been built to ensure quality sleep for its passengers. Each traveler will have his or her own bed which comes with privacy screen and fresh sheets. They even offer reading light, personal power outlets, and WiFi for their customers.

The bus leaves from either city by 11 pm and arrives at its destination about 5 or 6 in the morning. Passengers, however, are allowed to sleep until 9.

In an interview with Inc. Magazine, SleepBus CEO and founder Tom Currier described the experience this way:

“It would basically be like you teleported to L.A.”

SleepBus has gained quite a number of positive reviews for its service and affordable price. Currently, it has 4.5 stars on Yelp.

One of the reviews said:

“I was traveling on business and had an evening event, but needed to be back in LA in the morning. I could have gotten a hotel and a early morning flight, but SleepBus took care of both needs.”

According to their official website, SleepBus has stopped taking new reservations as of the moment:

“We launched SleepBus with a prototype bus in late April and the response from all of you has been incredible! We unfortunately can’t take any new reservations until we get more buses online and are working with our manufacturer to build 10 brand new buses right now. We can’t wait for you to try SleepBus and expect have more capacity available by August 15th.”
