A family was left in tears after their domestic helper of 6 years leaves to find her own happiness, presumably to get married and have a family of her own or to possibly change careers.
The employer’s post went viral, with many netizens saying that a lot of domestic helpers truly become part of the family – and when that happens, they’re surely going to be sad when the domestic helper finally goes.
Domestic Helper Leaves Family after 6 Years
They might be paid lower than other kinds of jobs, but domestic helpers are priceless – especially the good ones.
Domestic helpers keep the house clean, most are also tasked to take care of the kids, and are also required to do other things, such as cooking and even going grocery shopping (in some households).

Thanks to domestic helpers, the employers are able to go out and work or run their business so they can provide for their families.
One of these employers is Mengli Tan. The family, based in Malaysia, had their domestic helper for 6 years. But she now has to leave them, for undisclosed reasons.
However, it is clear from Tan’s post that the domestic helper left of her own volition and that the family wished she could have stayed with them for a longer time.
So, when the day came that the domestic helper has to leave, Tan and her kids were left in tears.
“Thank you for working hard for this family for 6 years. Now, you are going to find your own happiness. I wish you all the best in the future. I am really reluctant (to let you leave),” Tan wrote on her Facebook page.
“You have taken care of my daughter since she was born until she started primary school this year. Thank you for treating my child like your own child. Thank you for raising us to become chubby in the past 6 years and cooking us a lot of delicious food.”
The domestic helper was also in tears, but there was nothing they can do but accept this bittersweet parting. She kissed the children on their foreheads and cheeks before waving the final goodbye.
