Have you ever wondered why many domestic abuse victims do not leave their abusers no matter how much abuse they are being subjected to? One of the reasons this is the case is that most abusers cut off the victim’s communication lines with possible support groups like their families as well as remove their means of escape, such as locking them inside the house or not leaving them any money.
This is the reason why Meathead Movers, a California moving company that started in 1997, decided to step in and offer help for victims of domestic abuse to finally escape their abusers.
The burly guys from the moving company not only help in physically moving the victim’s belongings from the abuser’s house but also offer their services for free in these situations so that the victim is empowered to finally move out and away from her abuser.
The company partners with women’s shelters so that these abused women will have a place to stay once they finally escape their abusers. The guys from Meathead Movers have partnered with Good Shepherd Shelter of Los Angeles, California to provide these women with a secret place they can call home as they get back on their feet again.

“Meathead Movers will work directly with the nonprofit to identify the abusive situations and provide moving services at no cost. Not only do these services help the victims of domestic abuse but they directly impact Meathead employees – consisting of predominantly young men who believe that real mean don’t hit women, real men help those in need.”
Domestic Abuse
Domestic abuse is defined by Wikipedia as “a pattern of behavior which involves violence or other abuse by one person against another in a domestic setting, such as in marriage or cohabitation”.
This abuse can be physical, sexual, emotional, economic, or verbal. Some forms of domestic abuse are subtle but others are more violent and could lead to some form of disfigurement or even death!
While women are the most common victims of domestic abuse, a significant number of men are also victims but most choose to remain silent.
