How to Make a Tranquil Zen Garden with Easy-to-Do Bamboo Water Feature

Did you know that you can easily make a low-maintenance Zen garden in your backyard? This is what a landscapist from Better Homes and Gardens shares with us. What makes this project great is that you don’t really need to have prior knowledge about landscaping to get it done right. Plus, the project does not require a lot of maintenance unless you have plenty of pets and kids in your home, of course.

It is necessary to make the ground leveled; thus, the project might require some extra digging and flattening out, depending on the nature of your land. As you can see in the video below, the existing plants were used as boundaries for the Zen garden but if you don’t have any, you can easily find plenty of options at a store selling plants in your locality.

Sand could be used for this project but small gravel pieces could also do the trick. You should also pick smooth stones of a contrasting color (most probably black) to accent spots like plants or water features and add larger rocks as central features.

As for the water feature, you’ll be surprised at how easy it is to make the tilting bamboo water spout using just a few pieces of bamboo. I’d surely love to try this project at home! I didn’t know making a tranquil spot like this can be so easy.
