It may sound really hard to believe but a debate group from Harvard University has just been smashed by a team of prison inmates from New York.
This report recently went viral as the students from the prestigious university lost to the inmates – all three of which have been convicted for violent crimes at the maximum security Eastern New York Correctional Facility.

Inmates Carlos Polanco, Carl Synder, and Dyjuan Tatro debated with the students about why public schools are able to refuse students whose parents are illegal immigrants to the United States.
The judges were impressed with the arguments presented by the inmates and so they eventually won the debate. At one point, they insisted that if the poor students are not permitted to enter public school, then non-governmental and private schools will step in and fill their need for education.

Needless to say, the team from Harvard was caught off guard with the intelligence of their unlikely opponents, that is, despite the fact that the inmates were not allowed to do internet research in preparation for the debate.
Harvard’s team is currently the national debate champion. Well, it looks like they finally met their match!
