You, however, should be very careful about this since some experts believe that inhaling fumes from microwave popcorn may lead to lung cancer. On top of that, the nonstick coating found inside the bag contains a chemical called perflourooctanoic acid. According to a study by Dr. Frank Gilliland, workers exposed to the compound suffered a higher possibility of developing cancer.
If you love consuming chips, then consider this a warning. Potato chips are high in fat and have several artificial flavors and preservatives. Furthermore, acrylamide is produced when they are fried. This is exactly the same carcinogen found in cigarettes.
While we’re on the subject of chips and popcorns, soda definitely couldn’t be too far away. Sure, it’s a refreshing beverage particularly when it’s a hot, sunny day. Still, this doesn’t mean you will be spared from 4-methylimidazole (4-MEI), another carcinogen that is a byproduct of the drink’s caramel color.
Of course, canned foods are also not entirely safe for human consumption. Besides, these goods contain bisephenol-A (BPA) which can later trigger breast cancer, prostate cancer, and others.
Hotdogs, bacon, and other processed meats are just as harmful. Aside from having high salt and preservative content, smoked meat may also have carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
