Kristin Leigh Ryneheart has been looking for Raven, their rescue dog, for a while but couldn’t find him anywhere. So she decided to just walk inside their home and check on Addison, her little daughter, who was sleeping at the time.
Much to her surprise, she found their pet pooch having a peaceful nap beside her beloved baby.
It was a touching scene that definitely deserved sharing! Fortunately, Kristin had her camera in hand and took a short footage of that beautiful moment. Later on, this mom from Raleigh, California uploaded the video on her YouTube account and netizens worldwide have received it with overwhelming response. Since being uploaded last July 24, the video went viral and has already been viewed over 2.7 million times on YouTube.

According to Kristin, Raven has been an important part of the family since they adopted him. She said “People that say ‘money can’t buy happiness’ have never paid an adoption fee. Ten years ago I left a rescue with this little guy and I often wonder… who rescued who? I gave him a home, but he gave me so, so much more.”
Pet Adoption Statistics
Reports by ASPCA indicate that “approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year” 3.9 million of which are dogs and 3.4 million are cats. Majority of these animals that enter shelters are strays while a smaller percentage are those that are relinquished by owners. Also, it is heartbreaking to note that only about 2.4 million shelter animals are every year while some 2.7 million animals are euthanized.
These statistics apply in the United States where ASPCA is based but we can only imagine the tremendous figures in different countries as well.
Regardless of where you are in the world, it is definitely a good idea to adopt a pet.
