72-Year-Old Farmer Inspires After Graduating from Senior High School

A 72-year-old farmer has gone viral after graduating from senior high school. He proves yet again that age is and should never be an excuse for not achieving your dreams.

And this tatay also wants to be an agriculturist!

It’s true that in life, we can’t always get what we want or wish to have. And there are so many reasons why that happens, including poverty and not having time to achieve our dreams because we have to work for our families.

And there are a thousand more reasons, yet the good news is that there isn’t a time limit for achieving our dreams.

That’s exactly what happened to Tatay Carlos Saladaga, a 72-year-old farmer who was able to finish Senior High School at Daantabogon National High School in Tabogon, Cebu, in the Philippines.

Although the back story of why he wasn’t able to finish his studies when he was younger isn’t shared on social media, many netizens were amazed that he decided to pursue his studies and reach this milestone at his age.

Yes, most of the people his age have already retired and are now spending more time at home or perhaps traveling. Still, who said one can’t start living their dreams at this age, anyway?

By signifying that he wants to be an agriculturist, Tatay Carlos shows that he hopes to become a professional one (there’s a board exam for agriculturists).

Of course, we know that Tatay is already an expert farmer, but there’s so much for him to also learn and improve with formal education.

Netizen Christian Saladaga (they have the same surname but aren’t related) proudly shared Tatay Carlos’ story because he was inspired by it.

He wrote (in Bisaya):

Not everyone has the opportunity to achieve success. Congratulations, Tatay Carlos Saladaga! At 70+ years old, you graduated as a Grade 12 student from Daan Tabogon National High School.

Even though we may not personally know each other, I truly saw your efforts to complete your education. Congratulations again, Tatay! 🥳♥️
