She has countless moles all over her body, some of which were really large and dark yet 20-year-old Evita Patcey Edgar Delmundo of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia is determined to fulfill her dream of becoming a beauty queen.
Evita recently auditioned for Miss Universe Malaysia and the organizers were quite amazed at her confidence, wishing her luck as she takes part of the screening process.
Getting into the final line-up is certainly a huge challenge for Evita, considering that people have this notion that beauty queens should be flawless especially if they were to represent their country to an international beauty competition!
While Evita is full of confidence these days and does not mind the stares she gets from people, the same thing could not be said when she was younger. In fact, she had serious issues with bullying as other kids used to laugh at her and call her names in school. Some even called her a monster.
She used to hate her many moles and cursed fate for giving her this kind of body but Evita later learned to embrace her uniqueness, especially in high school when the other kids were more accepting of her condition and she gained a lot of friends.
But her dream of becoming a beauty queen might be hampered by the fact that people always think that beauty queens should be gorgeous and flawless. She’s gorgeous but she’s definitely not flawless – and her flaws were quite obvious.
Kudos to the organizers of Miss Universe Malaysia for not rejecting her application! We sure hope she gets a spot in the final lineup and that she would be given an equal chance to win the crown despite her many moles…
What are Moles?
Moles are black or brown spots in the body that are also called melanocytes. These skin flaws occur because the skin cells grow in clusters instead of spreading around like they are supposed to. Some moles grow bigger while others fade with age.
