VIRAL: Stay-at-Home Moms Reportedly Lambasted by Working Mom on Social Media

MANILA, Philippines- A Filipina working mom allegedly expressed her negative thoughts about stay-at-home parents in a series of Facebook posts that went viral.

The working mom identified as M.A. Mariano reportedly insulted plain housewives and stay-at-home parents for their decision not to work in order to financially support their family. Mariano, who stressed out that working moms are better, tagged stay-at-home moms (SAHMs) as additional mouths to feed who don’t have dignity and purpose.

Through a separate post, Mariano said SAHMs’ roles can be taken over by helpers and babysitters. Mariano also pointed out that a SAHM is not a loss to the family if they die earlier unlike breadwinners.

“Subukan niyo maghanap ng pambili ng gatas ng anak niyo kumpara sa mag-alaga o magtrabaho sa bahay, mas mahirap maghanap ng pera. Kung wala gatas o food, maalagaan ba anak?” Mariano wrote.

(Try looking for money to buy milk and compare this to taking care of kids or working at home. It’s more difficult to find money. If there’s no milk or food, can you take care of the child?)

Mariano, who believes quality time spent with kids is more important than quantity, admitted that she had to spend less time with her kids in order to make ends meet. Despite the limited time she had with them, the working mom claimed that all of her children were honor students including a class valedictorian and a cum laude.

The working mom even believes that criminals and prostitutes are better than stay-at-home parents since they can make money to support their children’s future. She also claimed that she can get rid of her husband since she earned more money compared to him.
