VIRAL: 1,000 Musicians the Play Foo Fighter’s Hit to Convince the Band to Play in Their Town

In an attempt to convince the band Foo fighters to play a show for them, 1,000 musicians from  Italy played the band’s iconic song ‘Learn to Fly’ all at once.

In May 2014, the group of musicians thought of a crazy but unique way to convince the band who hadn’t been in Romagna  since 1997 to return. Fabio Zaffagnini, the event creator, came up with the outrageous plan.

“We have to organize something that kicks ass worldwide and can be seen by Dave Grohl: We will ask one thousand rockers to play one of their songs, all together and at the same time,” Zaffagnini said.

The group contacted Marco Sabiu to conduct 1,000 musicians. Previously, Sabiu has worked with artists like Madonna, Pavarotti, Take That, Kylie Minogue, and Morricone.

After more than a year of planning, the plan finally materialised in Cesena. Coming from different parts of the country, 1,000 rockers came to the place using their own money to play the song.

What we did here is a huge, huge miracle. One thousand rockers that came from all over the nation at their own expense, and they just did one song — your song. We ask you, the Foo Fighters, to come play for us,” Zaffagnini explained .

The video has gone viral earning more than 4 million views and 100,000 likes on YouTube.

We’re pretty sure the Foo Fighters wouldn’t dare say no to these rockers.
