Traveling to Bohol: An Island with Unique Attractions

Have you visited the beautiful island of Bohol? It is a personal favorite, mostly because of the many exciting attractions that are unique to the place.

You’ll find Bohol on the second spot in the Top 10 Travel Destinations for Summer in the Philippines.

Here are the best attractions you will surely love in Bohol:

The Tarsier

An animal endemic to the island, the tarsier is a must-see because you can never see it anywhere else in the Philippines! This tiny primate is so small it can fit in the palm of your hands but because they are shy, tourists are rarely allowed to hold these creatures.

Still, the experience of seeing a tarsier is magical. It’s like you are transported to a mythical land of new creatures with very large eyes! You’ll have to travel to the Philippine Tarsier and Wildlife Sanctuary in Corella to see many of these creatures in their natural habitat.

The Chocolate Hills

Bohol is famous for its unique attraction best known as the Chocolate Hills. These hills are best visited in summer when the grasses are mostly brown, giving the hills the true appearance of chocolates yet the rainy season easily transforms these into minty chocolate mounds.

The viewing spot at Carmen is the popular option yet I prefer the one at Sagbayan. The latter option is also great if you have kids as they have a park for the young ones to enjoy.

Loboc River Cruise

A visit to Bohol is never complete without trying out the Loboc River Cruise. It would be best to time your visit to this attraction at lunch so you can indulge in the finest seafood buffets while admiring the stunning river whose waters are mostly green, except after days of rain when the waters turn deep brown.

Extreme Sports and Adventure in Danao

If you want to enjoy extreme sports activities, then visit Danao whose adventure park provides exciting things for you to try.

The Beaches of Panglao

Though not unique to Bohol, the beaches of Panglao are also a must-visit if you are traveling to Bohol. The pristine white sand beaches hugging the coast allow for relaxation while you are also having fun.
