This Little Girl Used Her Savings To Buy Gifts For Sick Children

As the old song reminds us, it is a good thing to “give love on Christmas day.”

Here’s a great example of a youngster who has taken that suggestion to heart and are blessing lives because of it.

Maisie Hymers, 8 years old, saved up an entire year’s worth of her pocket money so she could purchase and give Christmas gift for sick kids. To give you an idea, she was able to save an equivalent of almost USD $600.00 out of her pocket money.

Out of the money, she was able to buy 50 different gifts to distribute for the kids at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

Maisie confessed that the idea first struck when she was hospitalized last year. She said:

“I broke my arm last year and I was in hospital for a bit… then I thought the children who are in hospital won’t get presents and I decided to save my pocket money to buy them things. I have got board games, teddy bears and toys.”

Jason Hymers and Lucy Conway, Maisie’s parents, couldn’t help but feel proud of their little girl for her charitable act. In fact, they went with her and helped her distribute the gifts.

In an interview, Lucy commented:

“We are extremely proud of her for being so thoughtful… she saved up most of her pocket money and family members put in a few pennies here and there to help too.”

In the meanwhile, Tracy Morgan, the play specialist of the hospital declared:

“What Maisie has done is so inspirational… it’s amazing. This donation will make a massive difference to all the children on the ward over Christmas and we would like to say thank you.”

Kudos to you, Maisie, for your kind heart. You are a living example of what it’s really like to have the Christmas spirit.
