The Many Health Benefits of Eating Bananas

I can no longer recall how many cure-all ads for super supplements and drinks I’ve encountered in my whole life. All of these products are claiming to be better than the others in terms of the health benefits they bring.

In the long run though, I think nothing still beats living a healthy lifestyle. Getting sufficient rest, exercising regularly, and, of course, eating the right foods will help you have a strong body and prevent a host of potential diseases.

Banana, for example, is one of the healthiest fruits available to man. Not only is it really tasty but it is packed with a lot of awesome stuff such as vitamins, nutrients, and fiber. They’re easily available in the market and grocery, too. On top of that, they’re also very cheap.

Here are 6 reasons why you should definitely go bananas!

1) Regulate your blood pressure

If you have problems with high blood pressure, you’d be glad to know that bananas are low in sodium but has high potassium content. This fruit is perfectly good for you and your heart.

2) Reduce constipation

Having a hard time with your bowel movement? Ripe banana is rich in fiber and starch which can help with your problem.

3) Boost energy

When starting the day or preparing for the day’s exercise routine, eating a banana can boost your energy with its vitamins, minerals, and just the right amount of glycemic carbohydrates.

4) Relief for heartburn

Unripe bananas, on the other hand, contain natural antacids which can aid in alleviating heartburn.

5) Remedy for anemia

Need iron? Banana can help with that, stimulating red blood cell and hemoglobin production.

6) Anti-depressant

Believe it or not, some doctors claim that bananas are actually better than pills for treating depression since it contains tryptophan which the body converts to serotonin, a brain chemical that helps regulate your mood.
