Prayer Prevents Sickness and Heals According to Several Studies

Finally, Russian scientists have confirmed that prayer destroys stress, provides security and restores the body confirming that it has the power to heal.

Several medical researches from leading universities and hospitals all over the U.S. have concluded that praying to God is good for us, making us happier and healthier, and extending our life here on earth.

Harold G. Koenig, M.D., of Duke University said, ”Studies have shown prayer can prevent people from getting sick-and when they do get sick, prayer can help them get better faster.” Dr. Koenig also said that a comprehensive analysis of more than 1,500 reliable medical studies revealed that people who pray more and are more religious have improved physical and mental health.

And out of 125 studies that looked at the link between health and regular worship, 85 showed regular churchgoers live longer. There’s a lot of evidence out there.

Studies have shown prayer can prevent people from getting sick-and when they do get sick, prayer can help them get better faster.

Just recently, University of St. Petersburg Russian scientists have scientifically proven that miraculous healing coupled with spirituality is a reality and creates mental and physical changes that one can feel when praying or during a religious ceremony. They have also confirmed that the believer who is engrossed in prayer completely closes his cerebral cortex, which indicates lack of stress and complete security. This lack of stress and complete security was only noticed among babies up to three months that feel safe around their mothers.

As people age, this sense of security is increasingly decreased, and there is more brain activity. This brain activity is reduced only in times of prayer and sleep, which, of course, has a positive influence to the one who prays.

According to Professor Slezin, director of the Laboratory for neuropsychology at the Institute for Research and Development in St. Petersburg, prayer can heal.  Not only will it control all the processes in the body, but it also repairs the damaged structure of consciousness.

Want to de-stress and heal your body? Pray. Several studies have proven that it does work.

What is a prayer?

Prayer is a form of communication with the sacred, by creating a relationship with a deity or God, talking to gods and goddess, angels and saints, by definition.

Prayer is a significant and an essential facet in any religion universally. It is said to be the very expression of religion. As Sadhu Sundar Singh, a Christian missionary says, “Praying is as important as breathing.”
