Pinay Vegetable Vendor Receives Standing Ovation on ‘Asia’s Got Talent’

Who would have thought that an ordinary vegetable vendor can impress an international audience with her voice?

Felicitas Garcia, a 54-year-old vegetable vendor from Pasig City, got a standing ovation on Asia’s Talent after doing a mind-blowing performance with  YouTube sensation and comedian Momoy Palaboy.

Moymoy Palaboy, whose real name is James Ronald, revealed that he found Garcia’s video in the Internet and came up with the idea of doing a duet with her.

Their funny but awesome rendition of Bonnie Tyler’s epic song “Total Eclipse of the Heart” received good reviews from all the four judges which include Grammy awardee David Foster, Asian pop idol Vanness Wu, Indonesian artist Anggun and former Spice Girl Melanie C.

Although Foster was impressed with Garcia’s vocal prowess, he wanted Garcia to move on in the competition without partner Ronald. However, Garcia decided to stick with her partner throughout the competition.

Still, Garcia received go signals from Vaness Wu, Anggun, and Melanie C. Thus, the two are set to compete in the next round of the talent search contest.
