It is sad that there are so many old people getting neglected in society. Many of them live by themselves in rundown homes that had seen better days. A lot have been forgotten by their children who have gone to faraway places to seek good fortune.

Thankfully, there are people who take it upon themselves to help other people in need; even if these less fortunate ones are not their relatives at all. That’s what happened to an old woman living in a rundown house in Qijia village, set in Chunri Township located in the Pingtung County, Taiwan.
She has lived in her house for over 45 years. Her children had long departed the home and no longer support her, but the old woman is not complaining. She is content with her life; though her house appears to be so old that it might just break apart at the slightest earthquake.
A volunteer team that specializes in building homes and using their resources to help others discovered this old woman’s fate – and they immediately pooled their money to build her a new home. Her old house could collapse anytime soon, but the team is not about to wait until that happens.
Buying materials from their own pocket, the team came back to build the old lady a sturdy house that’s going to last a lifetime! They did not just build with wood or temporary materials; instead, they used concrete and steel! No expense was spared for this old woman’s home.
She could not help but cry as she saw what the volunteers built for her. It was the house of her dreams! They even equipped with home with proper electricity, plumbing, and other needs. But everyone was so happy to have helped the old lady. We just hope her children would come back to help take care of her in her old age and provide her day to day needs…
