OFW Gets Benefits From OWWA’s “Balik-Pinas Balik-Hanapbuhay” Project

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), had recently launched “Balik-Pinas Balik-Hanapbuhay” Program as assistance  to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs)  who had decided to return to the country under circumstances covered by the provision.

The Program aims to help and give support to  the returning OFWs who had been victims of illegal recruitment, abused by employers, human trafficking and under distressful circumstances, displaced by hostilities or those that are trapped in the middle of war or conflict in the country that they work for.

One of the project’s recipient is Rosalina Casuga from San Carlos Heights in  Baguio City.  She had decided to leave Malaysia after working as a domestic helper for 6 months, because according to her, the employer was not paying her with the right compensation that she must receive as indicated on the contract that she signed.

She received a starter kit containing grocery items from OWWA, as livelihood assistance last June 2, 2017.

The Balik-Pinas Balik-Hanapbuhay is a big help for Rosalina so she can support her family with their needs.  She was also challenged by OWWA to persevere in order to sustain her business.

This OWWA’s project is a good news for all OFWs.

For those who were not so lucky to land on a good job outside the Philippines, this is a way of giving you another hope and a good start to earn income inside the country.

With the assistance that  OWWA is giving, it is also their dream to see that one day, a Filipino doesn’t need to go abroad anymore to be able to provide for their families.

Please watch her video.

As of this writing, OWWA has been continuously granting starter kits to qualified OFWs in different parts of the Philippines.

To all OFWs, you deserve all the assistance that our government has been providing to ensure that your welfare are being looked into.

I also wish that one day, no one among you will have to leave again your families to work abroad.

God bless you all in your endeavors!
