Dina Tenerife Celo, 45, has been working for Melissa McPike, an American citizen who became Emirati citizenship after marrying a UAE national.

Celo could not believe that her employer would give such amount to her and voluntarily help her build her dream house. She also added that McPike told her that she knows Melissa doesn’t have any saved penny because she sends her salaries to her family in the Philippines.

“Mangiyak-ngiyak ako sa sobrang tuwa… ‘Di ko yun inaasahan. Randomly, inabot nalang ni Ma’am Missa ‘yung pera sa akin. Sabi n’ya alam daw nilang wala akong naipon man lang dahil tumutulong din ako sa pamilya ko,” says Celo.

In addition, Celo said that Melissa along with her children, asked her to let them give back the love she had given to the family.

“Sabi ni ma’am, pati ng mga alaga ko, hayaan ko daw namang sila naman ang magparamdam sa akin ng pagmamahal na ibinigay ko sa kanila.” Celo added.

Celo is set to fly back in the Philippines together with Saeed, her employer’s son, to help plan the construction of the house this January 18. And as soon as the house is done, the whole family of Celo’s employer will come visit and see Celo’s house.

Celo could not contain her happiness and so grateful for her employer’s kindness.

“Madam Missa, maraming maraming salamat sa lahat ng ibinigay mo sa akin… sa mabuting pakikitungo sa akin. Kay Saeed na ngayon ay piloto na at kay Saif, maraming salamat sa pagiging mabuting mga alaga. Hindi ko makakalimutan itong niregalo niyo sa akin,” says Celo.

Class Ignores Teacher to Study for Spanish Exams, He Gives Surprise Exam Written in Spanish

Everyone knows how difficult it can be for students to actually study for all the exams they have to take during exams week, especially because they are expected to study a lot of material in all their subjects.

Many students try to cram during exams week by studying during vacant periods but others try to do it while attending other classes – but such can be quite frustrating to the teacher who gets ignored while the students study for another class!

This is what happened to a teacher at Cebu Technological University (CTU) in Cebu City, central Philippines.

Sir Jayson Garces Bayogo posted on Facebook how he felt ‘triggered’ when he realized his students were murmuring in Spanish – not because they were suddenly ‘possessed’ by the spirit of some Spanish ghost but were actually studying for their exams in the next class!

Feeling a bit pissed off by the class’ behavior, Bayogo dismissed them early. Of course, that might have given them an advantage to have more time to study for their Spanish exams but Bayogo wasn’t about to let them off the hook that easily.

The following day, he gave them a surprise exam written entirely in Spanish! Ooops. The engineering test looked difficult enough but the Spanish words made them even more difficult – we’re hoping the class had learned their Spanish well to pass this exam. Whew.

Many netizens took the teacher’s side in this issue, saying that while the students are expected to pass their Spanish test which must have been rather difficult considering it is no longer commonly used in the Philippines, they are also expected to respect teachers in other classes who are also trying their best to teach them.

Thankfully, the teacher was just trying to teach the class a life lesson and didn’t really make the exam as punishment. In a follow up post, he explained that the BSME-3 class had already apologized to him and all is well now. Whew!

What’s your worst nightmare? For some, it can be waking up in the middle of the sea with sharks swimming around you, or waking up and realizing everyone is gone. What about being buried alive?

As farfetched as it may sound, these so-called nightmares can really happen to a person. For example, a teen from Honduras “died” and was buried, but was soon discovered to have been accidentally pronounced dead.

Another woman, this time from Brazil suffered the same fate. A 37-year old woman was buried alive for 11 days! Can you imagine? This is after being mistakenly pronounced dead in the hospital.

Rosangela Almeida dos Santos was declared dead due to septic shock when she had two cardiac arrests.

The family proceeded in burying Rosangela. However, the people who live near the cemetery reported that they heard screaming and banging from inside the tomb. One resident even thought that the banging was caused by kids playing around.

“When I got there right in front of the tomb, I heard banging from inside it. I thought the kids who play around the cemetery were playing a joke on me, then I hear her groan twice, and after those two groans she stopped.”

11 days

Can you imagine being buried for 11 days without anybody hearing you? Oh, the horror.

The family of Rosangela heard about the banging sounds 11 days after they buried her. That’s when they smashed the coffin open but found out that they were too late, she already died – this time for real.

Her body was noted to have sustained injuries that can support that she tried to claw her way out of her coffin. The cotton wool that was placed on her nose and ears were displaced and she turned around from how she was buried.

Her body, according to the family was still warm, and she has cuts on her fingers and forehead, the nails that were used to shut the coffin was also loose.

An investigation is being undertaken about what happened in the hospital.

Interpol Searches for Suspects in Case of OFW Found in Freezer

When the body of Filipina domestic worker Joanna Daniela Demafelis was found in a freezer at an abandoned apartment in Kuwait, all evidence seem to point toward her former employers as suspects.

The Interpol is now searching for Lebanese man Nader Issam Assaf and his Syrian wife Mona Hassoun, identified to be the employers of Demafelis.

Another domestic helper who works at a nearby apartment revealed that Demafelis had been abused, almost on a daily basis. While she had encouraged Demafelis to run away and seek help from the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait, the latter was too scared of her employers to do it. Sadly, she would end up dead and left in that freezer for over a year.

Reports surfaced, however, of the man’s mother talking to the local media and accusing her daughter-in-law of being the one to have killed the domestic helper.

In a report on Arab News Online, it was revealed that Assaf’s mother claimed she had visited the couple and stayed for some months with them. She had supposedly witnessed several occasions when her daughter-in-law would maltreat the Filipina.

At one point, Hassoun allegedly grabbed Demafelis by the hair and slammed her head on the wall. Assaf’s mother reportedly told her daughter-in-law to just return the domestic helper to the agency if she was not satisfied with the woman’s work but this was apparently ignored.

The older woman added that she didn’t even stay at the couple’s house for long, staying to go home before her visa expires as she could not stick to her daughter-in-law’s bad behavior.

She said the last time she had seen her son was at a police station in Syria some 10 months ago. He reportedly told her he had undergone a bypass surgery and is in a very bad health situation. While that was the last time she had seen him, he reportedly called her 2 months ago to inform her that his wife had given birth to a baby.

New parents or not, these two should pay for the crimes they committed against Demafelis! We hope they will be arrested soon.
