A Filipino domestic helper is soon to have a house of her own, thanks to her employer.
According to Kwentong OFW, Dina’s employer, Melissa McPike, gave her Dh23,000 equivalent to P320,000 pesos last Oct. 2017 to buy a land in her province, Sagnay, Camarines Sur.

Melissa also added that she will help finance the construction of the house until its done.
Dina Tenerife Celo, 45, has been working for Melissa McPike, an American citizen who became Emirati citizenship after marrying a UAE national.
Celo could not believe that her employer would give such amount to her and voluntarily help her build her dream house. She also added that McPike told her that she knows Melissa doesn’t have any saved penny because she sends her salaries to her family in the Philippines.
“Mangiyak-ngiyak ako sa sobrang tuwa… ‘Di ko yun inaasahan. Randomly, inabot nalang ni Ma’am Missa ‘yung pera sa akin. Sabi n’ya alam daw nilang wala akong naipon man lang dahil tumutulong din ako sa pamilya ko,” says Celo.
In addition, Celo said that Melissa along with her children, asked her to let them give back the love she had given to the family.
“Sabi ni ma’am, pati ng mga alaga ko, hayaan ko daw namang sila naman ang magparamdam sa akin ng pagmamahal na ibinigay ko sa kanila.” Celo added.
Celo is set to fly back in the Philippines together with Saeed, her employer’s son, to help plan the construction of the house this January 18. And as soon as the house is done, the whole family of Celo’s employer will come visit and see Celo’s house.
Celo could not contain her happiness and so grateful for her employer’s kindness.
“Madam Missa, maraming maraming salamat sa lahat ng ibinigay mo sa akin… sa mabuting pakikitungo sa akin. Kay Saeed na ngayon ay piloto na at kay Saif, maraming salamat sa pagiging mabuting mga alaga. Hindi ko makakalimutan itong niregalo niyo sa akin,” says Celo.
