This is an incredible story of a mother’s selfless love and a son’s untimely death that soon became an incredible journey.
When Air Force veteran CJ Twomey died at 20 years old, his mother Hallie was heartbroken. For 3 years, CJ’s ashes remained in the home of his grieving mom – until one fine day when she came to a realization that her son would always stay in the house and never leave.
Hallie knew CJ would have enjoyed traveling around the world if he was still alive. This soon developed into an idea she dubbed as “Scattering CJ”, reports Elite Daily.
She created a Facebook page detailing CJ’s story. She asked people to bring CJ across the world, whether to their hometowns or in their own vacations.
Hallie would send them a small portion of his ashes plus CJ’s photo. These strangers were requested to scatter his ashes in these new places. Hallie also asked them to send her back a photo of the place where they scattered CJ.
What started as a small project soon got an overwhelming response from the public touched by this grieving mother’s plea. Pretty soon, Hallie received hundreds of requests from strangers across the globe to allow them the honor of scattering CJ’s ashes.
To date, CJ’s ashes has been scattered across at least 100 countries by over 9,000 strangers. You’ll be amazed to learn that CJ has also been to space after riding a rocket! Wow! That is perhaps the most epic place where CJ was scattered.
