Lost Dog Refuses to Leave Roadside Spot, Gets Reunited with Owner 4 Years Later

Everyone knows that dogs are among the most loyal creatures of all – and they are often more loyal than humans! Take for example one dog who refused to leave the roadside spot he fell to, in hopes his owners would come back. He gets reunited with them some 4 years later!

The story of Leo, original name BonBon, started when a Thai woman saw him hanging around the roadside, at the same spot. He was skinny and sick from days of not having any food and living by the roadside.

Thinking he was lost or perhaps intentionally left by his owner, the woman brought the dog home and named him Leo. She fed him, bathed him, and cared for him; however, when he got better, he went back to the spot afterwards.

Every time she brings him home, he would go back to the spot. Realizing he must be waiting for his original owners, the woman decided to simply bring him food at the roadside and let him rest at her home, if he wanted.

For 4 years she did this until one day when a netizen spotted her feeding Leo. The dog looks really cared for; deducing that this woman was feeding a lost dog who’s waiting for his owner, they asked around. After learning his story, they posted about it online and shared some photos of the woman feeding the dog.

This went viral and would soon reach the original owner who immediately went to the area to find the kind woman and the dog, whom they originally called as BonBon.

At the reunion, the dog was so happy to see them. It turned out the family was on a road trip when he vanished; they couldn’t find him anywhere so they thought they lost him forever.

However, Leo has also grown loyal to the woman who had cared for him those many years. He didn’t want to leave her as well. So, the owners and the woman had a compromise – the dog stays with her and the original owners are free to visit anytime. They could also bring him home once he’s ready…
