Locker Bought on Reality TV Show for $500, Turns Out to be Filled with Millions in Cash

Have you watched popular reality TV show “Storage Wars”? The show features a group of people who would bid on abandoned storage lockers, in hopes of finding treasures inside.

While many of the lockers turn out to be filled with junk and some still usable items, there are times when someone strikes gold and valuables inside! There are times when the buyers find collectibles that are worth several thousand dollars.

Recently, however, the show just got its best one yet – a locker bought for $500 had a locked safe inside that turned out to be filled with millions of dollars in cash! Whoa.

Storage Wars TV show star Dan Dotson and his wife Laura revealed the story of the locker, saying that while they were at Cars, Stars and Rock N’ Roll charity auction event in Indio, California, an old lady kept making eye contact. She would later approach the host and tell him something really incredible.

My husband works for a guy and he bought a unit from you for $500 and it had a safe in it,” the lady narrated.

The first person that they called to open the safe couldn’t, or didn’t. They called a second person and when that person opened it up… inside the safe they’re normally empty, but this time it wasn’t empty. It had $7.5 million cash inside.”

It really was something awesome, right?

But the original owners of the abandoned safe learned about the sale and sent a lawyer to the new owners to return the safe’s content, offering to let the new owners keep $600k of the loot. The new owners refused, of course, but would later agree when the old owners doubled the offer to $1.2 million.

Netizens were torn over the deal, however, saying that the new owners technically owned the entire $7.5 million money with the sale and shouldn’t have accepted the old owners’ offer. What do you think?
