Little Boy Stands Up for Woman Harassed at the Street

Singer/songwriter Julia Price was out for a jog by herself when an older guy shouted loudly to her, “Sexy lady, hey hey hey sexy lady!” Now, the man was shouting so loudly that she could hear him over the loud music on her earphones but she chose to ignore him and simply continued running.

Possibly angry that he did not get any response from her despite his repeated catcalling and shouting, this guy lashed out and called her with the B-word. Price decided it was time for her to stand up against this harassment, so she ripped off her headphones.

Before she could say a word to the nicely dressed but rude guy, a little boy who was walking with his mother and sister told the older guy, “Hey. That is not nice to say to her and she didn’t like you yelling at her. You shouldn’t do that because she is a nice girl and I don’t let anyone say mean things to people. She’s a girl like my sister and I will protect her.

Realizing the stupidity of his actions after being told off by the young boy, the man quickly gathered his belongings and went away.

Price revealed, “The man was immediately embarrassed and started gathering his lunch to leave. I asked the mother if I could hug the little boy (his name is James) and I told him how grateful I was for him. He just shrugged and said ‘Well I just wanted to make sure your heart was okay.’ According to his mother, this is a typical day in the life of James.

Here’s Price’s full account of the incident:

I was on my usual running path when I heard an older man yelling loudly enough for me to hear through my headphones. “…

Catcalling

A lot of guys think it is alright to whistle or make a comment at a lady/girl walking right past them just because they wanted to do so and they were “offering her a compliment, anyway” but in reality, this is something that already considered as sexual harassment.

Although most women would probably just ignore these guys, there are also those who retaliate or even take these guys to court.

So, guys, the next time you feel like “showing your appreciation” to the woman you see in the street, do it properly.
