Losing a child is one of the hardest things that any parent could ever imagine. After all, we expect that our kids would outlive us, just because we’re older! But one mom recently found a way to cope with her loss and to also ‘reunite’ with her late daughter through virtual reality. The video quickly goes viral as it brings tears to everyone’s eyes…
“Is there someone you miss in memory? Jang Ji-sung, the mother of four children, lost the third Nayeon, 7 years old, three years ago. And today we meet Nayeon again through VR (Virtual Reality) technology. Can Mom let Nayeon go? #VR #Human Documentary #Meeting You #Nayeon,” the caption on the video revealed.
Although the entire video is in Korean, with no subtitles whatsoever, netizens all over the world still understood every single thing that transpired in that heartbreaking clip. And everyone could not help but cry because they truly understand the pain that that this mother is going through as she watches her daughter, alive again.
She can see her daughter and have a talk with the child, but what is truly heartbreaking is that she can’t really hug the girl. She can just give the girl a virtual hug and try to savor the moment that she is there, talking, but this mom also has to come to terms with the fact that her daughter was long gone.
There were tears in her family’s eyes as they watched Ji-sung talking with Nayeon through virtual reality. The two had a virtual picnic and some fun moments together before a tired Nayeon asked to be tucked into bed as she wants to rest, a signal that the VR moment has to come to an end.
We can’t imagine what Ji-sung is experiencing but can all feel her pain in this tear-jerking video:
What is Virtual Reality?
Virtual reality is a simulated experience that is akin to the real world but through the use of computer technology. It puts the VR user inside the experience, making it looks, sound, and feel like it is for real.
