He didn’t have a job and was out of school when he was 18 years old but because his girlfriend wanted to complete her studies, Ador Adrian Gabrieles found various odd jobs to support her in school. Four years later, he proudly shares his story as his girlfriend, Aira Arcamo, finally graduates from college!
According to Ador, they were riding a jeep 4 years ago in Marilao, Bulacan, when Aira suddenly cried after receiving a text message. The message came from her sister who had enrolled in college; she felt devastated that she was the only one not going to school.

While he didn’t have a job at the time, Ador promised her that he would do everything to ensure she wouldn’t have a problem with her tuition fees. He found a job as bagger/messenger at Savemore; he was quite happy that he landed the job, especially because he was dripping wet when he attended the interview as it was raining hard that day.
But his job as bagger/messenger could only earn a few pesos. He dreamed of becoming a call center agent, yet he had problems with his English. So, he asked Aira for help as she is studying Bachelor of Arts in English Language.

Feeling embarrassed that he often forgets what Aira teaches him, Ador studied on his own. When he’s out making deliveries, he talks to himself in English. It would look like he was going crazy as he was talking English to himself, but he knew he had to do his best to improve so he could work in a call center.
His determination paid off and he landed a job at a BPO company. With a higher salary now, he didn’t have a problem sending Aira to school; though he received a lot of negative comments and unsolicited advice from people who believe his girlfriend would just leave him after she graduates from college.

Tuwing tinatanong nila ako kung anong dahilan bakit ko sinusuportahan ang girlfriend ko, eto lang ang palaging sinasagot ko “May kakayanan ang magulang ni Aira na paaralin sya. Engineer ang papa nya at Teacher ang mama nya. Gusto kong makita nila kung gaano ko kamahal ang girlfriend ko. Na kahit ganito lang ako, ay kaya kong maging isang mabuting partner sa anak nila. Nais kong magkaroon ng magandang imahe ng isang mapagmahal na nobyo, may pangarap na asawa, at huwarang ama sa mga magiging anak namin sa mga mata nila. Hindi ko ito ginagawa para mahalin nya ako o para hindi na nya ako iwan. Hindi ko ito ginagawa para meron na akong investment. Ginagawa ko ito dahil mahal ko sya, espesyal sya, at deserve nya ang ganitong treatment. Kapag nawala ako, hindi sya titingnan o mamaliitin ng iba dahil nakapagtapos sya. Kapag mawala ako, mayron syang mahahanap na magandang trabaho.”
Ngayon, gagraduate na ang gf ko. Makakamit na nya ang pangarap nya. Makakapaglakad na sya ng may tapang at may lakas ng loob dahil sa April 14, ganap na syang degree holder. Mas daig ko pa ang nanalo sa lotto.
