All job applicants know how difficult it can be to search for a job, especially when there are easily hundreds, even thousands, of other people with similar qualifications as you. So, how do you stand out from the rest?

Well, having a long list of excellent attributes and qualifications does help but getting your future employer’s attention is the most important thing. If you’re not yet sure what to do, take inspiration in this awesome curriculum vitae (CV) by a guy who used it to land a much-coveted job at popular men’s magazine GQ (Gentlemen’s Quarterly) – and he didn’t even undergo an interview at all!

Sumukh Mehta of Bangalore, India admitted it took him 3 weeks to create the impressive CV but all that hard work paid off when he managed to land the job he wanted.

While other applicants wrote impressive letters and placed their qualifications the traditional way, Sumukh created a mock-up copy of the magazine, highlighting his credentials inside. His magazine-style CV featured him on the cover, of course, complete with highlights of his skills as well as other interesting aspects in his career life.

You’ve got to admit that this is one truly impressive CV! Indeed, GQ was impressed by what Sumukh did – and they hired him on the spot! Not only was he accepted at the magazine’s Mumbai office by GQ India editor Che Kurrien, he was also hired by the Editor-in-Chief of British GQ, Dylan Jones!

Incredible, isn’t it? He now has to choose at which office he would prefer working – and to think he got the job even if they haven’t personally met him was the most impressive thing of all!
