Grandparents cry as they bid goodbye to their grandkids who had just spent a short vacation with them. The bittersweet video quickly went viral, with many netizens commenting that they miss their grandparents.
Grandparents Cry after Grandkids’ Vacation Ends
The family is the basic unit of society but as the children grow older, they leave the family to venture on their own, find a job and build a career, and start a family of their own.
When that happens, the dad and the mom, now the grandfather and grandmother are often left by themselves while their kids and their new families live in different homes. Many of these younger families even live far away from home, and only get to visit for a few days or weeks, around once a year or every few years.
That’s the bittersweet reality of having independent kids.
And while us, the younger generations, are enjoying our new families, new lives, and new jobs, our parents miss us a lot. Though they are also happy with what we have achieved in our lives, they can’t also help but miss us and wish that the family could still be together.
Jay Quinan uploaded a video of his grandparents, Lolo Bets and Lola Aunor, crying as they bid goodbye after a short vacation.
The video was taken last April 2022 after the old couple’s family spent time with them for a few days. It was Jay’s first visit after 5 years, he shared with the Philippine Star.
He explained that their grandparents always turn emotional every time they leave. And while he didn’t intend to take a video of them crying because he just wanted to take a last video of their vacation, the bittersweet moment tugged on his heartstrings.
