You may not realize its effect til now but sleeping with wet hair is dangerous to your health. Take a look at this woman who had a habit of sleeping while hair is wet and suffered from facial paralysis.

Xiong, a 32-year-old woman from Wuhan, China, who works in a shopping mall, used to sleep with wet hair. She got the lesson of her life when one day she woke up and discovered that the left side of her face could not move. And what’s scarier was when she checked it in the mirror, she found out that her mouth was crooked as well!

Scared, Xiong quickly goes to the hospital where she was diagnosed with a facial nerve paralysis that may have been caused by her habit of sleeping with wet hair.

World of Buzz shared that her doctor explained that sleeping with wet hair changes her body’s temperature that triggers pain and causes the face to experience a sudden involuntary muscular contraction which leads to facial paralysis.

He also added that sleeping with wet hair can make the pillow an ideal breeding ground for bacteria, which might cause infections. And that’s not all, it can also cause dandruff, ringworm of the scalp, severe headache and many more.
