For most parents, an ultrasound scan of their unborn baby brings in so much happiness as it gives them a glimpse of what to expect in their little bundle of joy.
But one particular ultrasound scan of an unborn baby shared on Imgur has captured the attention of netizens for a chilling reason. Aside from the image of the fetus, something strange was seen on the scan.

With the caption “A friend’s ultrasound. When you see it…”, the scan also shows a disturbing image of what appears to be a demonlike figure on the right hand side of the picture. The eerie image has quickly gone viral and became a hot topic on various social media.
While most netizens are seeing a demon, some have argued that they have spotted a mermaid or a Hindu Goddess.
“Hindu goddess on the right side of the image,” one commenter wrote.
“I’m seeing a friendly mermaid. Everyone else is seeing a demon. We’re all weird,” subtlemrs wrote.
Several claims of strange things appearing in ultrasound scans have been previously reported.
Late Grandfather Spotted Kissing Unborn Baby in a 4D Scan
In 2015, a mom-to-be claimed to have seen her late grandfather kissing her unborn child in a 4D scan taken in July 2013.
Jade Hornsby, a 21-year-old soon-to-be mother from from Dagenham, East London said that her late grandfather Jack Hornsby, who died in 2007, appeared in her unborn baby’s 4D scan.
“It’s really spooky. It looks just like him, and you can see him more clearly than my daughter. The lips are puckering up as if he’s about to kiss her on the cheek. You can make out the eyes, nose and mouth so clearly,” she said.
Jade believes that Jack is watching over her baby Lacey-Mae Head, who was born in October 2013 at Queens Hospital, Romford.
