Cop Goes Viral for Teaching Poor Kid How to Write

Millions of kids around the world live in the streets – and while some of them get a lucky break that brings them to success (See: Homeless Girl Graduates from College), most are unfortunately left in the streets to fend for themselves and end up becoming a headache to society.

While it might not be possible to help all these street kids to have a better life, every small step to that direction is already a big help to them.

This is probably the main reason why a photo of a young policeman helping a 9-year-old street kid learn how to write has gone viral on social media.

In a post shared by Bayaning Pulis (Hero Policeman) page on Facebook, it was revealed that a social media user had seen PO1 Robinson T. Dao-asen helping out the kid.

While it is definitely not part of his duty as policeman to teach a kid how to write, the post had gone viral exactly because of that fact! He went above and beyond his call of duty so that this kid can have a better, brighter future.

Dao-asen is just one example of kind policemen who go beyond their duties to help citizens live a better life. By teaching the kid how to write, this cop is helping him have a better future – and isn’t that much better than simply giving the child some food?

After all, there’s an old Chinese proverb that says, “Give a man (or a boy, in this case) a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach the man (or the boy) how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

In this world of jaded people who believe most cops are up to no good, it is great to hear good news like this one. We hope it inspires others to help in any way they can…
