Boost Your iPhone’s Battery by 15% by Uninstalling This Popular App

If you’re looking for ways to improve your iPhone’s battery life without spending money, you need to ditch one popular social networking app.

Instead of keeping your Facebook app, use the Safari browser to access the social network. By uninstalling the Facebook app, you can save up to 15% of your iPhone’s battery life. This was confirmed by a test conducted by The Guardian which revealed that the Facebook iOS app drains battery life even when it is not being used.

It was earlier found that deleting the app will help users to save up to 20% of the Android phone’s battery life

After the tech company was confronted by software experts and technology journalists late last year, Facebook admitted the issue and promised to resolve the problem by reconfiguring its mobile app.

”We found a few key issues and have identified additional improvements, some of which are in the version of the app that was released today,” said Ari Grant of Facebook.

How to Save Your Smartphone’s Battery Life

Saying goodbye to your Facebook app just to boost your phone’s battery may not seem easy for many users. Fortunately, there are other ways to save your phone’s battery life. Here are some of them, according to Mirror UK.

1. Set brightness to lowest level.

Your smartphone’s colorful display will actually save your phone’s battery life as it is considered one of the biggest energy sucker of the smartphone. Switch your phone’s brightness to the lowest level by changing your phone’s settings.

2. Reduce the screen timeout time

Make sure that your screen will turn off faster after you put your phone down by changing its settings. Simply look for the option “screen timeout” in an Android phone or “auto-lock” in iPhone and set it to the shortest possible time.

3. Close apps not in use

Close down any apps your aren’t using as apps running in the background actually consume battery life.

4. Turn of Wi-Fi

Switching your Wi-Fi off can save your phone’s battery life. This is because your phone constantly searches for wi-fi networks to connect to when you’re out and about. Unfortunately, this eats away your phone’s battery life.

5. Avoid using vibrate mode.

Turn off your phone’s vibrate mode as the power it consumes is far greater than the power needed for a ringtone.
