An 18-year-old woman learns sewing from YouTube – and amazed everyone when she opens a fashion boutique after 3 years! That’s quite impressive, right?
Woman Learns Sewing from YouTube, Opens Boutique
A lot of people learned their skills from school, and applied these in their daily lives to reach for their dreams, find a great career, or own a business.
Yet there are also so many inspiring people who managed to achieve success in life by teaching themselves skills instead of getting formal training.
For example, in the Philippines, a construction worker learns computer skills online and eventually found his dream job aboard.
He has a counterpart in Tawau, Sabah, in Malaysia: Rachel Jael Herry, a 21-year-old woman who only learned how to sew on YouTube back she was just 18 years old. She was able to use that to open a fashion boutique just 3 years later.
She was only just 18 when she picked up her passion for fashion after watching some YouTube videos.
It was lucky for her that her dad, who works in Singapore, bought her a sewing machine.
At first, she began to learn how to sew to make her own clothes.
She researched how to make patterns using Google.
“Day by day, it became my hobby, and I was thinking that maybe I should make this hobby of mine into a job,” the inspiring your woman explained.
So, at just 20 years old, she took a leap of faith to open Chel Luxury, a fashion boutique.
Although she didn’t get a lot of customers in her first few months, she would soon get clients for custom-made clothes.
What’s a Boutique?
A boutique is a small specialty shop that sells fashionable clothes or a special selection of merchandise. It’s considered a high-end shop where customers can buy luxury items.
