A 13-year-old girl starts med school and is set to become a doctor when she turns 18 – or perhaps earlier! She’s definitely an amazing child prodigy.
13-Year-Old Girl Starts Med School
Medical school isn’t a joke. It’s a difficult field of study that students can typically enter only after they’re done with a full bachelor’s degree and after taking the rigorous entrance exam.
But it seems to be easy-peasy for Alena Analeigh, just 13 years old but already a medical student.

The child prodigy also made history as the youngest black person in the US to be accepted into med school.
While this young lady hopes to become a doctor by the time she’s 18, it wasn’t her first field of interest.
She’s currently enrolled in med school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine, but she had started a degree in engineering at Arizona State University and Oakwood University.
But while attending her engineering classes, she felt that it wasn’t her calling.
“I think viral immunology really came from my passion for volunteering and going out there engaging with the world,” she explained.
“What I want from healthcare, is to really show these underrepresented communities that we can help that we can find cures for these viruses. I want to inspire the girls. I want them to see that there are no limits.”
As she starts her journey to med school and fulfilling her dreams, she thanked her adoptive mom.
“Statistics would have said I never would have made it. A little black girl adopted from Fontana California,” the young girl wrote.
“I’ve worked so hard to reach my goals and live my dreams. Mama I made it. I couldn’t have done it without you. You gave me every opportunity possible to be successful.”
She added:
“You cheered me on, wiped my tears, gave me oreos when I needed comfort, you never allowed me to settle, disciplined me when I needed.”
“You are the best mother a kid could ever ask for. MAMA I MADE IT! You always believed in me. You allowed me space to grow and become, make mistakes without making me feel bad. You allowed me the opportunity to experience the world,” she happily announced.
What’s a Child Prodigy?
A child prodigy is a person who exhibits extraordinary intelligence and skills while under the age of 10. Many of them are much better than most adults in the fields they excel in.
